About the Role
Shanco Contracts is looking to recruit Site Engineer, to work on a variety of different groundworks packages covering first phase, through to externals and hard landscaping. With a focus on professionalism, teamwork, and adaptability, we work across diverse sectors including Ministry of Justice (MOJ), Care homes, Educational facilities, and new build Hospitals.

As a Site Engineer, you will be visiting sites Nationally, and will be responsible for setting out piles, ground beams, holding down bolts, drainage and externals using a total station. When you are not required onsite, you will report into our Head office in Castleford, West Yorkshire.
Working as part of a small team of three, you will be a good team player, with the ability to communicate at all levels. A big part of the role will involve chasing information, therefore you will need to be tenacious and results focused.
You will be responsible for setting out all works in scope using a total station, an example of the day to day duties are as follows:
Compiling level surveys during and after works on CAD
Calculations of quantities for site deliveries
Setting out bolts shutters, pop ups, manholes, kerbs
Ensuring total station equipment is properly calibrated

We are looking to talk to candidates who can demonstrate a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role, which includes setting out for groundworks packages using total station, with the flexibility to work throughout England & Wales.
